Professional experience
Amanda Montgomery-Childress joined Shipman Steppick as an Associate in September 2009. Prior to coming to the firm, she was selected to serve a one-year term as Judicial Clerk to Justice Anne Gardner on the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth, Texas where she assisted in the research and drafting of judicial opinions.
In May 2008, Amanda graduated in the top 13% of her law school class and was licensed to practice law in the State of Texas in November 2008. During law school, she served on the Texas Wesleyan Law Review as a staff member and articles editor and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi honors law fraternity and a student member of the Eldon Mahon Inn of Court.
Also during law school, Amanda clerked for a litigation firm in Fort Worth and interned for the Honorable Bonnie Sudderth of the 352d Judicial District Court. In joining Shipman Steppick, she brings her experience from the court of appeals and excellent experience in research and writing to our clients in the areas of general civil litigation, business litigation, employment law and oil and gas litigation.
